Common Misconceptions about eContractorBids.com

1. eContractorBids.com is all about the lowest price…

-Less than 40% of the posted jobs are accepted jobs by the lowest bidder. More often than not, the accepted bid is from the first contractor to respond to the job lead and those who have the highest rating. Consumers come to eContractorBids.com for convenience and assurance that they will find a reputable contractor, not the cheapest price necessarily. We work hard at educating all consumers about the risks associated with accepting the lowest price.

2. I can’t to go to the job site and meet the customer…

- This is a common misconception. All members are encouraged to contact the customer and are provided several forms of contact information for each customer. Visiting the job site and meeting the customer before placing a bid is highly encouraged. eContractorBids.com is a communication tool that customers use to contact you and is not intended to replace face to face visits. Bids placed on the website are also not legally binding and traditional contracts still need to be signed between the parties.

3. Only eContractorBids.com customer can rate me…

-Any customer at any time regardless if they come from eContractorBids.com or not can leave ratings and reviews in your profile. The more ratings you have the better. You have several options for the method of which you allow consumers to rate you, including by mail, postcard, email, and the internet. More information can be found by reviewing the full rating system policy.

4. My customers aren’t on the internet…

-You may not be on the internet, but that doesn’t mean that your customers aren’t. Thousands of people search for contractors every day on Google, Yahoo, MSN, and other popular search engines in your area. The statistics prove that over thousands of searches are done every day relating to the construction industry by contractors and consumers looking for contractors and home improvement projects.

5. I’m not competing against contractors on my same level…

-Compared to the phone book and other advertising avenues eContractorBids.com creates a level playing field for contractors because they have all passed the strict qualification requirements for membership, creating a more level playing field than any other form of advertising and company exposure. eCB membership requirements are more strict than most HBA’s and provides a network of contractors that all at the very minimum meet the qualification requirements.
